Our mission
Improve the lives of women through advocacy, support, and education, and to provide rape recovery services to all genders continues because of amazing friends like you who believe in what we do.
Every 68 seconds
An American is sexually assaulted. At WCJ we believe that sexual violence is preventable, and we will continue to offer services to heal survivors and teach individuals the meaning of consent, boundaries, and healthy relationships.
None of the life-changing services
We offer are fully funded by federal and state grants, and every year that funding is significantly reduced. Your gift helps bridge the gap and keep our services 100% free of charge to those in need. Together we CAN make a difference!

Rape Recovery & Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (S.A.F.E) Program
WCJ advocates provide support and resources to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones at any point in their healing journey. ALL survivors can receive support from an advocate on our 24/7 rape crisis hotline and get connected with a nurse for access to a no-cost forensic exam through the SAFE Program. On average, the cost of each exam is $2,200. Your gift not only helps with the exam cost, but also helps us purchase clothing, toiletries, doorbell cameras, cell phones, groceries, and many other basic needs commonly requested when seeking safety.
Counseling and Stress Management
WCJ licensed and/or certified counselors provide a safe and supportive space to better understand and navigate life stressors and heal from traumatic experiences. We offer both individual and group therapy for sexual assault survivors, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Your gift helps us purchase bus passes to remove transportation barriers for our clients to attend counseling and group sessions, stock up on supplies for expressive art and other therapeutic groups, and ensure our counselors have access to continuing education, certifications, and trainings that provide them with the tools and strategies necessary to effectively support their clients throughout the healing process.
Community Education
WCJ offers community education through training and workshops designed to help create a community free from stress and free from sexual violence. Our trained staff teaches prevention throughout our area, career readiness through resume building, interview prep, community resources, and a professional clothing closet. Your gift helps us purchase educational materials and supplies for our workshops and trainings, bus passes and gas cards to remove transportation barriers and ensures our community education advocates have access to advanced training so they provide the most up to date sexual violence prevention and leadership education to our community.
Bosom Buddies
WCJ provides breast cancer support and awareness through patient advocacy, education, resources, accompaniment, navigation, and emotional support. Through local experts and physicians, we offer health, nutrition, and treatment education. We have helped breast cancer patients for over 20 years! Your gift helps breast cancer patients with transportation costs, groceries, medication costs, utility bills, medical supplies, and doctor visit co-pays. Your gift also helps us buy mastectomy bras, pillows, wigs, head coverings, and other comfort items during treatment.
